Frequently Asked Questions

Recommended items for all tours: camera or smartphone (with memorization or portable charger), comfortable closed-toe walking shoes with good traction, hat and sunglasses for sun protection, sun protectant sunscreen, cash or card for gratuities and souvenirs, layered clothing (temperatures vary), water and snacks. For Sandstone Adventures tour only: valid government-issued photo ID (required for flight), motion sickness medication if prone to airsickness (optional), light jacket (cabin can be cooler at altitude).

Important: Backpacks are NOT allowed inside either Lower or Upper Antelope Canyon per Navajo Nation Parks & Recreation regulations. However, backpacks ARE allowed in our shuttle van and at other locations (Horseshoe Bend, boat tour, during flight). You can keep your backpack in our Mercedes Benz Sprinter van during the canyon portions of any tour. Our Navajo guides at both Dixie's Lower Antelope Canyon Tours and Adventurous Antelope Canyon Tours will provide guidance on what personal items are permitted (typically smaller items like phones and small cameras in pockets, water bottles, and hands-free items only). Loose items, tripods, selfie sticks and video recording ARE allowed at Horseshoe Bend, on the boat tour, and during flights.

Per Navajo Nation Parks & Recreation regulations, selfie sticks and video recording are NOT permitted inside Lower or Upper Antelope Canyon. Photography (handheld, no flash) is allowed but encouraged to be quick and limited so as not to disrupt the experience of others. Selfie sticks and video recording ARE allowed at Horseshoe Bend, on the boat tour, and during flights.

Yes! We provide complimentary water and snacks on all our tours. For the Trilogy Tour, we also include a catered lunch by Lake Powell provided by AZ Canyon Catering.

We transport all our guests in comfortable, luxury Mercedes Benz Sprinter vans. These vehicles are spacious, air-conditioned, and perfect for enjoying the scenic drives between destinations.

All tours depart from and return to our office located at 50 S Lake Powell Blvd, Page, Arizona. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your scheduled departure time. Specific meeting time details will be provided when you book your tour.

Canyon Overlook Package: Approximately 4 hours. Sandstone Adventures: Approximately 6 hours including flight time and ground tour. Trilogy Tour: Approximately 8 hours, our most comprehensive offering. Each duration will be confirmed when you book your tour.

The Navajo Nation and our tours are incredible year-round, but each season offers something unique. Spring (March-May): Mild temperatures, fewer crowds in early spring, and light beams begin appearing in the canyons by mid-March. Wildflowers add color to the landscape. Summer (June-August): Peak season for the famous canyon light beams (visible between 11 AM and 1 PM May through September), warmest temperatures and longer crowds, but the most dramatic canyon photography opportunities. Fall (September-November): Comfortable temperatures, beautiful golden colors, and still good chances for light beams through early October. Less crowded than summer. Winter (December-February): Cooler temperatures, smallest crowds, and lower sun. While light beams are rare, the canyons are still stunning with beautiful colors and textures. Snow rarely affects tours.

Both canyons are stunning and offer unique experiences, but they offer different experiences. Lower Antelope Canyon (featured in all our packages): Requires descending stairs and has a narrow adventurous feel as you go through it, more photographic opportunities, less crowded than Upper. Upper Antelope Canyon: Easier and flat to walk through with no stairs, famous for the iconic light beams, generally more popular.

Lower Antelope Canyon involves descending and climbing metal staircases and walking through narrow passages. It is moderate in difficulty, requiring reasonable mobility. If you have mobility concerns, please contact us to discuss which tour is best for you.

Light beams in Upper Antelope Canyon are most visible from late March to early October, typically between 10:30 AM and 1:00 PM. Our Trilogy Tour includes Upper Canyon visits during peak hours when possible. Even without light beams, the canyons are breathtaking year-round.

Absolutely! Photography is encouraged on all our tours. Your Navajo guides at the canyons will help you find the best angles and lighting for stunning shots. Professional photography (such as for-profit shoots, equipment, etc., requires special permits and is restricted by Navajo Nation regulations.

Tripods are generally not permitted inside Antelope Canyon tours, especially during peak seasons. Selfie sticks are also prohibited inside the slot canyons. Tripods are allowed at Horseshoe Bend and on the boat tour.

You can book directly through our website or contact us by phone or email. We recommend booking in advance, especially during peak season (March-October). Once booked, you'll receive a confirmation email with all tour details.

Gratuities are not included in the tour price but are greatly appreciated for exceptional service. It is customary to tip your canyon guides, boat tour operators, pilots, and drivers. We recommend bringing cash for tips.

Safety is our top priority. Antelope Canyon tours may be closed during flash flood warnings or severe weather. Flights may be delayed or canceled due to weather conditions. If weather forces a cancellation, we'll work with you to reschedule or provide a refund according to our cancellation policy.

Wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes (REQUIRED for all tours). Dress in layers as temperatures can vary significantly between canyon depths and surface levels. We recommend long pants and a hat. For warmer months, sun protection is essential.

For insurance purposes, we can only accommodate children older than 8 years OR taller than 4'9" who may ride with a seat belt only. Children who meet these requirements are welcome on all our tours. If you have questions about bringing children on a specific tour, please contact us.
